We enjoyed some great days at the lake last week. We still couldn't get everyone there but we got as many together as possible. Now that the kids are getting older and most of them have jobs, it's hard to find a week when they can all take time off. For those of us who could get there (and I was there the entire time!) it was terrific to reconnect, bond and eventually start bugging the crap out of each other. Ah, family...

Wow -- I also enjoyed some wonderful days at the lake last week. I was swimming in a lake, the depth of which was over 800 feet, according to our boat's depth-finder. It was so relaxing and nice. And mountains all around!
ReplyDeleteI love all these pics, but especially the fishing one -- oh, it brings back memories. When I was kid, NOTHING was more fun than fishing!
Wow! That must be a huge lake! This was 160 feet deep, man-made (originally to generate electrical power at the dam) but big enough to enjoy. hope you had a great time!
DeleteI loved to fish as a kid too. That was always special time with my grandpa. My hubby still loves it and is teaching the little ones how to do it as well!
That looks a great place to me. I can't get over the picture of your mother. How fabulous a great grandmother is she?
ReplyDeleteIsn't she beautiful? And just as much on the inside, too! She's a very special lady!
DeleteThanks, I'll pass on the compliment! :)
Family times like this are simply the best. Your moon rising over the lake pics are lovely and serene - I almost feel like I've had a holiday just looking at them :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you! That was a little experiment with my camera and then fine tuning them on the computer. I thought they were pretty!
DeleteHope you all had a lovely time reconnecting, sweet family pictures (and that puppy is so cute) - also those last two photos of the lake at night are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWe are trying to make it an annual event. We've done it twice so far.
DeleteThe puppy is a cutey and a big ham, too! I have more photos of him for another week! :)
These are all fantastic picture! I love family time together :-)
ReplyDeleteThese are so great. Especially like the sun rising over the lake.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great family vacation. I love to see these extended family trips. Here's Mine
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great family vacation. Love the corn-on-the-cob photo! My grandson is the same way about corn!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny to watch? My grandson twists his arm and makes it look so difficult but he's happy! He's covered with butter and corn bits but always has a smile on his little face!
DeleteWhat could be better than four generations, water, and a puppy! It sounds like a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteJust gazing at your photos takes me back to family days at the lake...it's been eons since we all got together, what with one living in Europe and another only a few hours away, but busy all the time.
ReplyDeleteHere are some shots of some of my family touring England and France: MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT POST
I can't imagine having one of my kids as far away as Europe! It would be terrific to go visit them there but I would never be able to leave. Wouldn't they just love that? :D
DeleteBeautiful lake shots - love the moon's reflection in the water!
ReplyDeleteSuch family fun! Beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteHere is my Saturday Snapshot post!
Looks like fun all around! Growing up we had lots of extended family outings, but haven't seen them in many years.
ReplyDeleteMy Snapshot.
Great pictures! What a cute puppy!
ReplyDeleteGreat family pics. Awesome to be able to have 4 generations together for food, fishing and good fun.
ReplyDeleteIt was great to get together. We actually have 5 generations! My grandma is 93 but not able to go to the lake.
DeleteThat looks like a fantastic vacation with family! It is wonderful to be able to spend so much time with family members that you start to drive each other a little nuts - sounds exactly like my family gatherings. ;)
ReplyDeleteI don't think it would be normal if we didn't bug each other. That's why we only did 4 days and not longer. We didn't want it to get worse than "a little" nuts!
DeleteLooks as though you had a great time with those who could come. Some good photos to look back on the rest of the year. Sucking on corn cobs. Now that's a new one.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing spot!! I think it's great that almost all of the family was able to spend time together!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a perfect time.
ReplyDeleteAw August....nice photos and gathering♫♪
ReplyDeleteBeen away from a week, so I'm catching up. My Saturday Snapshot is at http://goo.gl/a62PX Love the moon rising over the lake, and your mum looks way too young to have great grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteThat's great that so many of you could get together... and you'll have some great memories. I fondly remember family vacations at the beach when I was a child.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful memories! Love the photo of your grandson eating corn. The photo of the moon over the lake is gorgeous. Glad you had such a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteI feel more relaxed just looking at those pics! I've never given Gage corn on the cob like that but now I'm wondering if I should?!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great week.
