Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, totally worn out and screaming,
"WOO HOO, what a ride!"

So, I was just wondering…

I can’t believe it’s almost a new year, a new decade! Remember when 2000 was just around the corner? (Y2K anyone?) I’m shocked that ten years have gone by already. *sigh* Anyway, with the end of 2009 comes the thoughts and discussions of memorable events gone by and what we have to look forward to in 2010. I’ve seen several discussions about favorite and least favorite books read and and also chats about new books that are coming up. My list is growing longer every day!

I thought I would ask about something different. I’m curious for those of you who have blogs, what do you expect to do in 2010? Are you making any changes with the new year? I’m not really sure for myself. I don’t have big plans at the moment. I guess I’ll just see where the road takes me. When I started this little adventure it was all about reading and having fun and I hope to keep it that way. Obviously, I won’t be making a career out of blogging. It takes a lot of time and hard work but that’s not a problem, I just want to enjoy doing it. I do know I need to budget my time more wisely and decide what my biggest priorities are so I make better use of that time. HA! It’s worth a try anyway. And of course I hope to maintain the friendships I’ve made here and look forward to even more. I’ve said it often but I’ll say it again, this is an amazing community of wonderful people. So, I was just wondering, what do you hope to accomplish in 2010?

I wish you good health, happiness and many good books to read! Happy New Year!!!

  1. Hey there! It is astonishing that it's already 2010. It's hard to believe that just a little under 8 years ago I was pregnant with my first son! How time flies.

You asked about changes we might have in mind for our blogs. I actually have some changes planned and I posted about them and I am holding a simultaneous giveaway. You can read all about it here:

I hope you have a happy and prosperous new year ahead of you =O)

  3. I definitely need to budget my time better in 2010! I also think I need to start utilizing my down time a bit more by writing posts ahead of time and scheduling them for the times when I know that I will be too busy to blog. That is the hope, anyway.

I wish you and your family a most joyous New Year!

  4. I was just mentioning that to my mom yesterday about how it seems like it was just 2000 and now here it is 10 years later. The time seems to be flying by.

I'll just be seeing where my blog takes me this next year. I'm having fun with it and that's enough for me. The biggest thing is to maintain the friendships I've made with so many great people.

Again, all the best to you in the New Year.

  5. For 2010, I'm going to really try to read whatever strikes my fancy at the moment instead of doing challenges and trying to keep up with review copies. I also want to learn more of what I can do with the blog design-wise. I'd like to totally redo the layout and add a blog roll.

    Happy 2010!!

  6. I can't believe it either and to be honest I can't say I've set any 2010 goals yet. Well besides my aged old favorites of less cursing and less calories :)

  10. I hear you about the managing time better. It seems that the more blogs I love, the less time I have! I'd like to figure out a way to spend a little less time blogging, but haven't figured out how I'm going to do that yet!
Hope 2010 brings you lots of happiness and good books :)

  11. oh how I do remember the Y2K...I worked for NEC Electronics at the time. We had to have extra staff that night. Not me. .. I had a little purple sparkly dress on.... and my champagne bottle that said 2000 on it. I think I threw it away a few years ago.

I have plans for my blog but they will be slow and mostly on quality issues. Better reviews, better time management, and not posting for the sake of posting.

    Happy New Year!!
