You're too kind people!

I have received some very nice awards lately. I really, really intend to pass them on as soon as I get them but obviously that doesn't always happen. That doesn't make them any less important to me. Since I started blogging last year (with no idea what I was doing) I've been lucky enough to meet so many great people and learn so many amazing things. I am grateful to each and every one of you who take the time to visit my blog. I have such a hard time choosing only a few people to pass these on to. I sincerely think everyone is deserving but these are some special acknowledgments.

I really think this award should go to every book blogger out there but I'll name just a few instead.

- Kaye of Pudgy Penguin Perusals is my biggest inspiration to keep on keeping on.
- PopinFresh of Popin's Lair always has such good books and a great contest list. It's a fun place to be!
- As a teen and tween librarian and a new bride the GreenBeanTeenQueen is always energizing and inspirational!
- Bingo at Bookin' with Bingo has created an amazing blog in such a short amount of time. I can't even imagine what she will be able to do now that she's retired!

- The ladies at West of Mars provide a very valuable service with their ongoing list of the many contests on the blogs. Love the new site!
- Marcia at The Printed Page gives us two fun memes that I always enjoy participating in - Mailbox Monday and Cover Attractions.

I am so behind in my awards and I apologize to everyone who has been kind enough to give me one. I think I responded to each of you right away on your blog but if I missed someone I am very sorry. I really appreciate it every time I am lucky enough to receive one of these. All of you have been incredibly kind to me since I started blogging. When I pass an award to someone else I d o take my time to decide who to give it to. At one time or another I could give all of these to each and every one of you. Instead of doing that I try to give it to people who represent the spirit of the award, for me, at that time. And these kind women have promised that the googlie-eyed poultry won't keep them from reading my blog! Who could ask for anything more? I'm not quite sure how you would stop zombie chickens but if I were them I wouldn't risk keeping passionate readers away from any kind of reading material. Take your chances chickens!

I have been lazy, hence I make excuses

I have been lazy, hence I make excuses

I've been tagged for a Meme by Popinfresh at Popin's Lair and it's appropriately titled, "I have been lazy, hence I make excuses." When I first saw the name of this meme I wondered if my laziness was really showing. I have a bunch of books that I want to read, but like the meme says I've been lazy. Enough about that, here is how this meme works:

1) You have to give at least two excuses. More the merrier. Your excuses can be real serious one or very wacky ones.

2) Tag as many as you want, but not less than seven.

3) And try tagging bloggers you only occasionally visit. You want to be a regular visitor but you can't. (Remember the excuses?!) It is important to involve everyone, even those in the peripherals of our own narrow vision. Also you gotta tell them about the tagging. How else will they know?

4) Spread the word, by hook or crook. (Optional). I am not an ogre, you know!

5) Do link me (Gautami, the originator) in your post along with that person who tags you. That way I can keep a tab of how far and wide it spreads.

Ooh, fun! Although I'm not usually lazy about my reading. In fact, I'm tend to be lazy about everything else so that I can read. I'm going to change it just a little bit. So these are my lazy excuses for reading and reviewing my ARCs.

1) I'm not always speedy about posting my reviews. Sometimes my narcolepsy kicks in and I fall asleep on my keyboard. I've woken up many times with keys z, a, s, x and 1 imprinted (backwards!) on my face.
2) I have so much laundry to do. I always have laundry to do.
3) My booklight batteries died.
4) I'm still trying to get my internet to connect and the pages to load... dial-up connection! ARG!!
5) I'm still doing laundry.
6) My kids have a game, and then a parent/teacher conference, and then a fund raiser...
7) My active social life keeps me so busy. (I'm laughing myself silly over that one!)
8) I could go on and on but I seem to be getting sleepy again ZZZzzzzzzz.......


This was such fun that I'm going to leave it open to anyone else who would like to participate in this hilarious meme!
