Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, totally worn out and screaming,
"WOO HOO, what a ride!"

We had some hot, muggy days early this week and now we are back to sweatshirt weather. It sure keeps things interesting around here! My photos are from a few weeks ago when we had our first very warm days. We had the kids outside playing and my four year-old granddaughter, The Princess, stripped of her sundress and climbed in the sandbox. Isn't it hard to believe that life used to be that simple?

I hope this weekend you find the time to relax and feel the sand between your toes and enjoy the sunshine. Happy June!

Playing in the sand in her underwear and rain boots.
Who could resist that innocent smile?

  2. What a cutie pie! I'd run around like that, too, if I could get away with it.

  3. I love her boots! Clear priorities there in which items of clothing are necessary... :)

    1. Oh yes, the girl is always in her underwear but she still knows how to make a fashion statement! We don't call her The Princess for nothing! :D

  4. That is possibly the cutest advertisement for 'letting it all hang out' that I've seen in such a long time! She is just darling!

  8. It is a great picture, and it shows that children don't need lots of high tech gadgets and expensive toys.

    1. Exactly! As much as we like to spoil them with gifts, kids usually spend more time playing with the box and wrapping paper!
