I was in a local drugstore over the weekend and when I walked up the aisle with the holiday decorations I was surprised to see a new item. I’m sure this isn’t the first time it’s been sold but it’s the first time I’ve seen one. Before my very eyes were several boxes of Charlie Brown’s Christmas trees! In case you’re not familiar with it (and who isn’t?) this was the “pathetic” little tree that Charlie Brown picked in the animated Christmas special that’s on TV every year. Isn’t it cute? For just a few dollars more you can get one with Linus’s blue blanket!
And if you’re still feeling nostalgic, there’s the leg lamp from the movie A Christmas Story. Wouldn’t it look great in your living room window?
Have you found any special treats for the holidays?
The infamous leg lamp- how funny is that! " Look it's from Italy, it says Fragile" (Fra-gee-lay). I howled at that line. Great movie.
ReplyDeleteWrighty, I triple dog dare you to buy that lamp for your family room.
Those are too cute. I like the trees, but think I'll steer away from the lamp, even though I love A Christmas Story.
ReplyDeleteI have seen these too....they are cute!!
ReplyDeleteI love the tree.
ReplyDeleteI also read somewhere that Hallmark has an ornament of Cousin Eddie's RV from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
oh how I love Charlie's Tree. I actually saw a knitted one!! Great post.
ReplyDeleteI so should have ordered that for my husband for xmas (the tree LOL) he is always going on about getting a Charlie Brown Tree.
ReplyDeleteMy husband keeps threatening to buy that lamp. We actually do have a miniature Christmas-tree-ornament version of it - which I accidentally broke a couple of months ago. He says I never liked that lamp :-).
ReplyDeleteBut as for the Charlie Brown trees, I really don't get why you'd buy one on purpose.
Oh the memories those photos evoked!! Love it!
ReplyDeleteAwww, it's so cute! The tree, not the lamp...
ReplyDeleteI saw the leg lamp a couple of weeks ago and literally laughed out loud in the store....I love it!
ReplyDeleteWe've had a few Charlie Brown trees over the years but not on purpose. My brother and hubby cut one down in the woods and then dragged it to the house behind a snowmobile. That's what it looked like by the time they got home! You couldn't hide the bad side against the wall because they were all the bad side. We put it up and decorated it with love. And LOTS of ornaments!
ReplyDeleteThe Charlie Brown tree is the first for me and now I'm going to be on the look-out for it. It's charming as all get out. Thanks for the heads up. (Hugs)Indigo
ReplyDeleteThe Charlie Brown tree is cute - but the thrifty crafty part of me says - Hey I can make that!
ReplyDeleteI lurve the Charlie Brown tree! It's definitely looks like it needs a loving home.
ReplyDeleteOh my, I love the Charlie Brown trees. They are too cute!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the Charlie Brown tree! I'm going to try to find one! It would make a great addition to any Christmas decor! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love watching the 24hr A Christmas Story marathon every year!
ReplyDeleteI like the Charlie Brown tree- sweet
Love it! Tooo cute. My husband has already asked me for the lady's leg lamp. I promised him one day when we set up his man room we'll get him the lamp.
