It is well after midnight, the fire dying down to embers, when we finally stand and stretch, reluctant even now to bring this long, lovely day to an end. Here in the darkness we have discovered, to our amazement, that in June these wild, untended fields are alight with fireflies, that they spark and tumble like falling stars through the tall grass.
