The news story changes to a segment about President Guiltree's lineage, how more than a century ago, citizens could vote for their president. It worked for awhile, so the story goes, until opposing sides began battling among each other. Now the presidency is inherited. The shortened life spans of the new generations threaten the tradition, but Gulitree seems to think he can solve it having as many children as possible. The fact that all his children are sons is also suspect.

(I love to take photos and am always looking for ways to get better results. I found a couple of great books at the library recently and this one was a favorite.)

Make photos of people near famous statues or well-known landmarks special. Find an unexpected point of view, long depth of field, or humorous interactions with the landmark.

Photograph friends engaged with the destination, not just staring at you. Photograph them looking at the view, inspecting the flowers, or pointing the way instead of just smiling at you.

In seventh grade Wally took Home Ec (I think they call it something else these days, but really, it's home ec). The teacher sent home a notice that the students were to make their own beds every day for a week. I was suppose to keep track of this and sign off at the end of the week. But of course they make their own beds! I wrote on the form "What's next? Academic credit for taking out the trash?"
Oh, that came back to bite me in the ass.

Children, toddlers especially, have boundless energy with which they can torture their parents. Hell, if all I had to do all day was color, watch Blue's Clues, eat a snack and nap, I'd have boundless energy, too. But no, I am the one getting out the crayons, trying to keep my children from consuming the crayons, picking up broken crayons and putting away the crayons. (And while I'm on the subject, why don't those folks at Crayola either add some vitamins and minerals or make them taste bad? My kids love eating them and I'm tired of telling them no and having to buy more. Put up or shut up, Crayola. Fortify them or make them taste bad. This isn't rocket science.)
