We are the third generation to live in, and enjoy, our farmhouse and the land that surrounds it. We have fields, woods, hills and valleys with a small creek that runs through it. I played in the water as a child, as my mom did before me, and as my children and grandchildren do now. As soon as it's warm enough we take our dogs there almost every day to cool off and play. We even got to sneak in a few visits already this month with the summer-like weather we were having. These photos are from last year and we can't wait to get back to our daily dips. With two retrievers we chase a lot of sticks!

Allie, the golden retriever, wades into the water to get a stick. |
|
Cassy, the chocolate lab, leaps into the water every time! |
|
Both girls successfully retrieve their sticks to be tossed again. And again. And again. |
You are so lucky to have that land in your family generation after generation.
ReplyDeleteHow neat to have the tradition and memories of living on the same land, you don't hear about that all that often anymore!
ReplyDeleteWhat a special place to share with your family. It's almost magical I imagine. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful that you have those memories to share across generations! My yellow lab would love having a creek to play in like that!
ReplyDeleteYour bathing beauties certainly are enjoying their play time in the water!
ReplyDelete;)
How wonderful that you have these marvelous places that have been in your family for generations-- loved the photos!
ReplyDeleteHaha dogs and water! I grew up with golden retrievers and we couldn't keep them OUT of the water. Every stream, lake, pond, puddle, and ocean had to be thoroughly experienced.
ReplyDeleteI love the peaceful first picture...and then the contrast as the dogs splash through!
ReplyDeleteYes, our home is a special place. It was a farm when my mom was a kid and also when I was very young. After that it was too much work for my parents who already had jobs. This was a wonderful place to grow up!
ReplyDeleteThat photo of Cassy made me smile. There's nothing quite like the joy of a dog :)
ReplyDeleteI love the history of the house and land you have. You are blessed.
