Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, totally worn out and screaming,
"WOO HOO, what a ride!"

I'm trying to get to some of the books I already have but I still pick up some new ones from time to time. I have a really weird mix this week. I hope sunshine (we need some!) and good books have found their way to you!

We are having a rainy April but that's an improvement. It's time for muddy boots, muddy dogs, muddy everything. April showers bring May flowers! (If they don't get washed away first.) But any weather is good for reading and I have lots of goodies. I hope you have beautiful weather and great books to keep you happy too!

It's still cold. And snowy. With more to come. Ick, ugh and yuck. Last year on this date my granddaughter was playing in the sandbox in her rainboots and underwear! (She was four) That balmy weather didn't last long but it didn't return to winter either. I haven't even seen a glimpse of spring yet this year! But I'm waiting patiently. Kind of.

In the meantime, I have plenty to read and I also got a few more goodies last week. I would much rather be reading in my hammock than near the fireplace but I can read anywhere! I hope you have lots of goodies to keep you happy and warm too!

It's March and still cold and snowy here but I had to change my blog background to make it more springy and colorful. I did keep the snowy mailbox photo though because that's exactly how it looks. Ugh. I am ready to come out of my winter coma and play in the sunshine! Until then (and it could be months still) I've got my books to keep me warm. I've been cutting back to try to catch up but we all know how that goes! I've been trying to stay away from my library for the same reason, although I do have to stop there today... I have a box of books to give away too. I'm always happy to share I just need to get a giveaway put together. Stay tuned. Anyway, here are the goodies that made their way to my house last week. I hope you had a great (and warm) week at your house!

Brrrrrrr! It's another cold day. With the wind chill it's -14! Last week it was in the 40s for a few days so it's not too bad if it doesn't stay this way. It's great weather to curl up by the fireplace and read. I hope you are warm and cozy and enjoying some great books at your house.

(On a very happy note we finally heard test results for our grandson, Monkey Boy. His EEG came back normal! Hopefully the seizure was just from the fever. )

Boy, it's been a while since I've done this and I've got plenty of things to catch up on. December is always so hectic than when the holidays are over I just veg out and have a hard time getting back into the rhythm of ... everything. I did get some goodies in the last month that were mostly ebooks. Even with the hundreds I already have I still can't resist some of the free ones but I've cut way back! Here's some of what I got recently. I hope Santa brought you plenty of good books too!

Happy Labor Day! This weekend marks the unofficial end of summer. School starts tomorrow and we have a rainy week in the forecast. That's exactly my mood. I love autumn with the cooler nights and beautiful colors but I don't like the ten months of winter we seem to have here. Ugh. It is cozy by the fireplace but I like to be outside. I need to be outside. And while I surely can do that year round the problem is, I don't. I like the heat and sunshine. I like to work in my flowers and lounge in my hammock with a good book. I like the long evenings on the patio before it gets dark.  I like to wear flip flops and T shirts. I'm such a baby... So after all that complaining, I guess I should get my butt outside and enjoy it! Have a happy and safe weekend and may your days be filled with sunshine and flowers!
