Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, totally worn out and screaming,
"WOO HOO, what a ride!"

S-s-s-so cold!

It's cold today. Really cold. Colder than a witch's...well, you know. With the wind chill factor it was -14 degrees and that was during the daytime. And it's suppose to get even colder the next two days. Two of my children left the house today wearing hooded sweatshirts instead of coats. They are teens and they all drive so they don't like the bulk of a winter coat. And I gave up trying to tell them what to do a long time ago. I have to say that I often do the same thing when I'm just running back and forth from the car to another building. Coats are a pain! Can you tell we are used to living like this? A little bit of snow and cold doesn't slow us down much. It almost takes an act of God to get a snow day here school is so rarely canceled. It's western NY state after all. We just suck it up and pray for an early spring. That will probably be about mid June. I'm not kidding.

  1. I woke up to a complete white out outside with snow blowing everywhere. Made me sad since we were down to our last 2 inches on the ground from our snowstorm weeks ago! I don't think our wind chill was that cold, though. You need a coat in that! :)

  3. It's been cold here, too, so I'm heading south today. By the way, I say "cold as a witch's broom."

  5. It has been cold here too...I hate when I go home at the end of the day having to sit in that cold car for a bit before just driving away! I need an automatic starter!

  6. OMG! It's so cold here, too. ugh! Going outside is like breathing in pain, and dry pain at that. I know with all their gear on, the kids and I always re-enact the Randy scene from A Christmas Story. "UNNnn... I can't put my ARMS down!!" "Well, put 'em down when you get to school."

hehehe. *raising my coffee in a toast* Here's to spring, heck... maybe just toast to summer!

  7. It's supposed to get cold here over the weekend. The high for Sunday will only be 60...that's brrrrr for here. I'm sick of wearing turtlenecks and sweatshirts and listening to the heat pump.

What was about a witch? Lol, is that like "colder than a well-digger's a...?"

  8. Your not the only one freezing. Today it was -18 and not sure what it was with the windchill but it was cold enough to feel a little burn on the cheeks.

  9. Cold! It's -22 degrees Celsius this morning in eastern Ontario, and that is without the windchill factor. I was out to feed the birds and, honestly, I didn't find it too cold. But wait until the wind puffs start!!

  10. lol - I always laugh when I see people have snow days because, like you, it would take something bigger than big for that to happen here. Whether it's a blizzard or 12 inches of snow, we're still going.

It's pretty cold here again too. There was supposed to be snow this weekend but it seems like we may be lucky enough to have that pass us by. I want spring already!

Have a good weekend and stay warm!
