Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, totally worn out and screaming,
"WOO HOO, what a ride!"

Mailbox Monday

Last week I mentioned that I didn't get anything in my mailbox. I wasn't complaining and it wasn't a problem at all because I have plenty of reading to catch up on. A few of you mentioned that the next week would be better. Well guess what? I got a lot of books in the mail! Most of them were a set from one place so it was only three deliveries but I got eleven books. Eleven. And I won the same series again this week in another contest too. (I declined and another lucky reader will get them.) I guess I have some reading to do! Share what you got in your mailbox and leave a link at The Printed Page. You'll find even more goodies while you're there!

Hollywood Moon
by Joseph Wambaugh

to review for Hatchette

One moonlit night, LAPD veteran Dana Vaughn and "Hollywood" Nate Weiss, a struggling-actor-turned cop, get a call about a young man who's been attacking women. Meanwhile, two surfer cops known as Flotsam and Jetsam keep bumping into an odd, suspicious duo--a smooth-talking player in dreads and a crazy-eyed, tattooed biker. No one suspects that all three dubious characters might be involved in something bigger, more high-tech, and much more illegal. After a dizzying series of twists, turns, and chases, the cops will find they've stumbled upon a complex web of crime where even the criminals can't be sure who's conning whom.

Fallen
by Lauren Kate

ARC from Delacourt

There's something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori. Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price's attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He's the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move. Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce--and goes out of his way to make that very clear--she can't let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her. Dangerously exciting and darkly romantic, Fallen is a page turning thriller and the ultimate love story.
