Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, totally worn out and screaming,
"WOO HOO, what a ride!"

So, I was just wondering...

I have to thank Dar again for her helpful tip for writing posts. It was the topic two weeks ago and then last week she shared one of the best tips ever! I've used it every time. So thanks again Dar! What a difference you made with just one little comment.

I know more and more people are using the e-readers and I see they are getting new models and updating old ones all the time. The Amazon Kindle, the Sony Reader and now the new Barnes & Noble Nook are the ones that I've heard the most about. I've never had the pleasure of using one but they look very cool. I don't really have the need or the money for an e-reader but if I traveled that would be very handy. And if my kids could use those in school instead of the giant text books they have to lug around, it would be so much easier and less of a burden on their developing spines. Although I can't even imagine how much it would cost to have to replace one of those babies.
"Mom, have you seen my expensive e-reader that I need in 10 minutes but I probably left it at the gym and will never see it again?"
(Last year my high school sophomore informed me at 9:00 p.m. that he needed 3 sock puppets for a project the next morning. I was not surprised. I grabbed some old, clean socks, a bunch of craft goodies and turned him loose. He got an A!) But I digress...

I've noticed that there are a lot of you that use e-readers so I was wondering, what do you think? What kind do you have and what do you use it for? Are you happy with it? If you don't have one, are you planning to get one? Go ahead, share with us! I want to know more.

  1. No e reader for this reader! Well, not unless I win the lottery and I Might, with capital M, might consider getting one.
Too many other fun things to blow our bucks on - like health insurance, electricity and food. Oh yeah, and the occasional lottery ticket. Ahh, hope springs eternal.

  2. I have a Kindle and a Sony eReader. For me, the Kindle wins for ease of use. The Sony is very persnickety - I think it may be because we're running Windows 7, though.

  3. I have the Sony Reader and purchased it when it was intially released. I love it, but with the release of B&N's Nook, I can't help but contemplate "upgrading."

  4. Ooh, I can't wait to see everyone's opinion as I have been drooling over these things for ages now.

  5. For the longest time I said I did not want an e-reader, but last week the Kindle 2 arrive. I love it, plan to use it to store lengthy books so I don't have to rush through them. The Kindle 2 is so simple to use. My only negative is that I wish it had a back light function.

  6. I was ambivalent about e-readers until B&N announced their nook. That one looks appealing, many for the color navigations screen and the ability to share e-books.

  7. I just bought a Sony reader and have transferred a couple of books to it, but haven't really had a chance to use it. I picked the Sony for the open format. I can read library books on it, unlike the Kindle.
